Hi!  I'm Kait.  I graduated with a degree in accounting in 2009 and have been working as a CPA since 2010.  Through most of my career, I absolutely loved working with clients and finding ways to help.  I always felt a little lost and out of place in the CPA world, though.  A CPAs time is limited based on budgets and client needs, and nonprofit resources are limited for CPA work. 

In January of  2020 while driving to present to a large group of nonprofit leaders, it hit me like a ton of bricks: my purpose was education.  I was walking into the beginning of my life's work. One attendee mentioned that this was the first time she understand a complicated accounting topic despite seeing several presentations.  And so, I became devoted to helping just one more nonprofit leader understand.  After a short time of leading the nonprofit niche at my firm, I knew I needed to find my way without boundaries.  

In 2022, Your Nonprofit CFO was formed.

I believe the nonprofit community needs education that is more accessible, digestible, and tailored in order to allow nonprofit leaders to expand their impact and reduce overwhelm around finances.  So many nonprofit leaders have not had the opportunity to learn the business concepts to make the impact that they hope for.  Together we will break down these topics so that we can start to tell the story of our mission, the story of our programs, and the story of our purpose through our numbers.  Together we are better.
